Grain sorting

Sorting is an important step in the processing of grain. In this process step the product that has been cleaned in the classic manner is separated into fractions that are as homogeneous as possible to optimally prepare the product for further processing in husking machines.

Selector with a knack for grain

Sorting and classification of the respective grain types is executed classically according to grain size or grain size components.

Plansifter

product family: Grain sorting

In the work chamber of the plansifter there are multiple sifting compartments with sieve stacks. On each screen deck small screen cleaners run synchronously with the motion of the screen and keep the screen mesh open with their bristles and burls. The product drops through a pipe onto the first screen deck.

Due to the circular vibration movement of the screens, the machine screens out fraction by fraction and the fractions are routed out of the machine via separate discharges. The screens of the screen stack have different mesh widths so that separation into flour, coarse groats, fine groats and uncut kernels can occur. Screen tension can be individually adapted to the application.
