Grain sorting

Sorting is an important step in the processing of grain. In this process step the product that has been cleaned in the classic manner is separated into fractions that are as homogeneous as possible to optimally prepare the product for further processing in husking machines.

Sealed flake sorter

Control screening is executed through two different screens, one behind the other, that are attached on a trough with a slight incline. They separate the cereal flakes into three fractions - fines, end product (main fraction) and oversized particles.

The flakes fall out of the discharge of the fluid bed dryer into the infeed of the machine, which is manufactured out of stainless steel. The inflowing product is transported from the inflow zone to the screen surface through the linear movement. The fines are screened out by the first screen and are routed laterally out of the machine via a separate discharge.

The screen perforation of the second screen separates the main fraction into a silo via a central discharge. The other coarse components, such as clumps run out over the screen. Then this third fraction also runs off below the machine.

To protect the end product from contaminants the control sieve is completely closed and is fitted with flexible connections on all inputs or outputs.
